Cole designed The Performing Singer Program specifically for the
community of singers and performing/recording artists in New York City.
Who would imagine that music programs in Manhattan specifically for the
contemporary singer would be few and far between? There's The New
School, but there's a lot of jazz instrumentalists who scorn singers
for the most part; there Mannes, but that 's mostly classical ; and
there's Manhattan School of Music geared more toward the
instrumentalist. There's some great schools here but nothing
specifially for the commercial singer . . . except for here! Our role
model is Berklee, but we have a different twist. We have a music school exclusively for the vocalist. We've been plugging away for the last 20 years
growing our programs and building our student base and we're here for
YOU.

programs are for the contemporary singer whose music is not a hobby but
IS their profession or is going to be their profession", says Cole. "They are for performing and recording artists who
sing Rock, Pop, R & B, Jazz, Folk, Country, Soul and the myriad of genres
known to commercial music. We know what you want because it's all

The Performing Singer Program
We know
today's singer is a leader who requires musical prowess, power and
believability in performance. No matter what style you sing, studying
with us you will be encouraged to take risks and go further in
direction that is naturally yours. We encourage our singers to have a
strong musical identity. Performances are recorded onto DVD for critique and observation.
